Scope: Approves all CiA interest groups (IG). Maintenance of generic physical layer specifications and CAN Application Layer (CAL) related specifications.

Scope: Development and maintenance of all general CANopen specifications for application layer, physical layer, and additional services and protocols. Releasing of all CANopen related draft standard specifications.
- CANopen Joint Task Force (JTF) CiA/EuroMap: extruder
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for extruder downstream devices such as saw, puller, corrugator, co-extruder and calibration table.
- CANopen JTF CiA/PNO: ProfinetIO gateway
Scope: Development and maintenance of the profile specifying CANopen integration in Profinet IO.
- CANopen JTF CiA/EnergyBus: LEV
Scope: Development and maintenance of a CAN/CANopen network for battery powered bicycles and other light vehicles.
- CANopen SIG aerial working platforms (AWP)
Scope: Development of a recommended practice for different CANopen-based aerial working platform (AWP) system architectures and dedicated CANopen device interfaces, e.g. joysticks, pressure sensors, actuators, and power (diesel) engine. The recommended practice should cover self-propelled and truck-mounted AWPs. It is intended to specify several classes of system architectures and device interfaces for simple and more sophisticated AWPs. This should include scissor AWPs as well as boom AWPs.
- CANopen SIG building door control
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for embedded door control systems that link devices such as locks, card-readers, pushbuttons or presence-detection sensors. Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for door-to-door communication.
- CANopen SIG CANopen WTM (wireless transmission media)
Scope: Specification of the communication via wireless transmission media. The first draft will deal with CANopen via Bluetooth. Other wireless communication techniques are not considered yet, but they are not excluded.
- CANopen SIG construction machinery
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for embedded construction machine control systems. This includes generic integration networks as well as dedicated sub-networks, e.g. sensor sub-network for pavers, milling machines or compactors.
- CANopen SIG container handler
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for crane add-on devices such as spreaders.
- CANopen SIG drives and motion control
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for motion control of electrical drives such as frequency inverters, servo controllers or stepper motor units.
- CANopen SIG energy management systems
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for energy management systems.
- CANopen SIG laboratory automation
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for laboratory automation systems. This includes medical, pharmaceutical, biological, and chemical laboratories.
- CANopen SIG lift control
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for lift control systems comprising devices such as panels, car doors, car drive or load measuring units.
- CANopen SIG low voltage switch gear devices (LVSG)
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for low-voltage switchgear devices such as circuit breakers and soft starters.
- CANopen SIG maritime
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for maritime electronics. This includes embedded and open networks for maritime devices, as well as embedded and open networks for control systems in maritime environments.
- CANopen SIG medical devices
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for medical electronic systems. This includes embedded networks and open networks for medical devices, embedded and open networks for intensive care units (including patient beds) as well as embedded and open networks for operating rooms.
- CANopen SIG medical devices TF injection interface
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for medical add-on devices such as injector and ECG.
- CANopen SIG municipal vehicles
Scope: Development and maintenance of profiles for truck-mounted superstructures for municipal vehicles such as garbage trucks. Garbage truck superstructures comprise for example lifter, compaction, and weighing units.
- CANopen SIG photovoltaic systems
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for photovoltaic systems. Among others, this includes CANopen interfaces to photovoltaic controllers and inverters, solar panel tracking systems, and related sensors.
- CANopen SIG programmable devices
Scope: Development and maintenance of additional services and protocols to allow the use of CANopen-based embedded and open networks in specific environments. This includes, the use of CANopen with in-system programmable devices, in redundant and high availability embedded and open networks, as well as in plug and play embedded and open networks.
- CANopen SIG power supply
Scope: Development and maintenance of the CANopen device profile specification for power supplies.
- CANopen SIG rail vehicles
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles defining an integration platform and sub-layered embedded networks in rail vehicles. This includes sub-systems as power drive systems, lighting systems, door control systems, etc.
- CANopen SIG special car add-on devices
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for special-purpose car add-on devices, such as e.g. taximeter, blue-light, etc.
- CANopen SIG special car add-on devices TF TAXI
Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen profiles for add-on devices in caps such as e.g. taximeter, radio, receipt printer, etc.

Scope: Development and maintenance of CANopen gateway profiles to J1939-based networks. This includes gateways to ISO 11992-2/3 (truck-trailer communication) and generic J1939 in-vehicle networks.

Scope: Development and maintenance of the CANopen recommended practice that specifies the implementation of the CiA 413 gateway interface for truck-mounted cranes, multi-lifts, and aerial working platforms.

Scope: The TF testing defines test procedures for testing CANopen device in respect of their supposed to be implemented CANopen specifications.

Scope: Development and maintenance of the file format description definitions for CANopen devices according to the specifications released by the IG CANopen based on XML.
