CiA 417 (CANopen® Lift) profile version 2.0 released
Nuremberg, Germany, February 2, 2010. The CiA Special Interest Group (SIG) CANopen Lift has published the version 2.0 of the CANopen application profile for lift control systems (CiA 417). The completely re-structured specification is partly incompatible to version 1.0. In particular, the specification for some virtual devices such as car drive has been revised significantly. Also some PDO specifications have been updated.
The next CANopen Lift plug-fest will already test interoperability of devices compliant to CiA 417 version 2.0. The SIG CANopen Lift will continue to add new virtual devices, but it is not intended to change the technical specification of the just released version 2.0.
Part 1 and part 2 of the CiA 417 profile specification can be downloaded free-of-charge in order to provide an insight into CANopen lift. Companies, who like to implement CANopen Lift, need also part 3 and part 4 of CiA 417, which are only available for CiA members.
