Accomplished activities in 2010

- Sadar Patel University, Anand, 18.01.2010
In January 2010, there were held seminars at the Sadar Patel university in Anand, the VJTI College, and the Idemi organization (both in Mumbai). In-house seminars were conducted at CMC, BARC, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Technologies.
In the last 18 months, CiA trainers have given about 25 seminars. They have trained more than 800 engineers. The next training session is planned for September. In the meantime, Global Technology will start to provide CANopen introduction seminars with practical demonstrations. Sudhir Abhyankar and his team will support additionally the establishment of CANopen laboratories in some Indian universities. For that reason, CiA asks its members and other interested parties to sponsor and support those laboratories by hardware and software products including tools.
With the help of Global Technology CiA successfully participated in the Elecrama 2010 as well as in the International Elevators and Escalators Expo 2010, both in Mumbai.

Special seminars
Special seminars (like CAN/CANopen in wind power systems or CANopen in Lift) are dedicated for decision makers and managing engineers, who like to get more and sufficient information about CAN technology in order to evaluate the use of CAN-based networks for the next generation embedded control systems. Of course, these seminars are tailored to the needs of specific markets. The technical information will be not on the level of bits and bytes. It is intended to provide a functional overview in respect to the usability in the specific application field.
