Manual control units (hand held units) for CAN/CANopen-solution bleed off a modular construction kit

The new product family MKT_HBG represents a manual control unit portfolio for the low - to middle-class performance range.

This means the user has access to universal units as the microprocessor platform is common for all units and this allows flexibility in the application solution.

The right control unit matched to the specific automation requirement optimizes costs and handling complexity.

All control units are assembled in industrial type enclosures, they are ergonomically designed, attractive, robust and the design is not controversial.

For protection class IP54 is defined, which is sufficient in 80 % of all industrial applications, higher protection is realizable on demand.

The product family offers a variety of displays. Basically graphic displays are used; 2-row/4-row monochrome displays are implemented in the two low-range control units.

The range is then upgraded by 2,2 inch-, 3,5 inch-, 4,3 inch-, 5,7 inch-colour-TFT-displays. Optional touch screens can be integrated for the 4,3 inch and 5,7 inch units.

The solution of the input keypad is solved flexible for the customer: All units are supplied with a standard membrane keypad (alpha-numeric/cursor-and arrow-keys). This provides the customer with a cost advantage. All membrane keypads can be customized on demand (tactile feeling; design; brand; labeling inserts).

Throughout the product family one controller type is used based on the ARM7-series.

Programming and parameter settings are handled within the actual MKT-programming tool. This tool is free of license - and service contracts. Customers can download the software from the MKT homepage.

An additional advantage is that the application can be transfered and used in other unit class. This saves costs and initial operating time.

Industrial and rough practice forces the discussion how to handle the cable requirements.

As a standard function all the manual control units have a fixed 5 m cable connection; op-tional a helix cable and connector can be implemented.

Some asseccories are available in the product range:

• Connection kit for the cabinet
• Connection kit as a bus distribution/V_CC (T-connection)
• Magnetic docking station for the hand-held control unit

Additional controls may be integrated on customers demand, e.g. encoders; emergency-stop; live-man switch or joysticks.

This manual control unit series represents a very flexible product family for the CAN/CANopen system integrator/ OEM/ customer. It is attractive in price and functionality; The kit concept provides a simple realization of the number of versions and options avail-able.
