MUXlog R analyzer tool

MUXlog R is a tool intended to record the activity on a multiplexed bus, with remote triggering capabilities by a sequence of programmed events (network and/or external). It is the evolution of the product MUXlog and integrates henceforth the wake-up by the internal clock, the wake-up by the CAN high-speed (ISO 18898-2), a driven power output and the doubling of the pretrigger memory.
Designed to operate in extreme environments, MUXlog R is built into a 'hardened' metal housing, on which a remote trigger control is connected. Each slot of the MUXlog R is able to record two CAN channels, which can be configured independently (CAN high-speed, CAN fault-tolerant) and one LIN. Several MUXlog R may be linked in order to increase the number of channels recorded and the triggering possibilities.
The MUXlog R is configured via a PC with user-friendly software. CAN database (CANdb)
can be imported.
The transfer of the complete configuration to the data logger is achieved through USB. The
data are recorded on the internal memory, without limitation of the number of recordings and
then transferred to the PC through USB.
Data processing is then performed by the software which formats the recordings into text
files (for use under Excel) or files compatible with the CANalyzer, CANgraph, CANape tools
from Vector.
The MUXlog R triggers the recording on detection of:
- An action by the user on the remote trigger button
- One or several identifiers and/or signals (combinable)
- A size of data
- A network load e.g.: 40%, no load (no network activity)
- A rising or falling edge of a digital input
- An error or overload frame
- A date and time
It is possible to combine several triggering conditions using AND and OR operators, also between different slots. A recording window can be configured by the user around the triggering condition (pre-trigger and post-trigger time).
Specification of a shut-down condition is also possible. The frames are recorded and time
stamped within an accuracy of 4 μs (on-board clock) in an internal memory of 128 MiB per
slot. The state of the digital input is also monitored, time stamped and recorded with each
recorded frame.
A synchronisation digital output for external tool is activated on detection of the triggering condition and is maintained throughout the entire duration of the recording.
In order to reduce the amount of data to be stored, the recorder incorporates a filtering function for selecting identifiers (or families of identifiers) to be included or excluded.
The MUXlog R switches automatically into low power consumption mode (standby) if there is
no activity on the different connected networks during a specified time and after a digital input (generally +15) is low .
The start-up time, after activation of the input +15, is less than 130 ms.
A specific version of MUXlog R allows the user to take the Compact Flash card from the data logger in order to write the configurations on it or to copy the recordings on a PC with a compact flash cards USB reader connected to the PC.
The standard MUXlog R is delivered with a Compact Flash of 128 MiB; on request the capacity can be increased till 4 GiB.
