Principle and methods

CAN transceivers are tested according to the test specification, defined by the GIFT consortium. A defined number of transceivers in a predefined standard net environment, the so called Standard Net is used as test suite (www.cs-group.de/MunichGroupServer).
The Standard Net consists of a fixed number of identical nodes, and the devices under test have to interoperate not only with themselves in a "homogeneous network" but also with others in "heterogeneous networks".

Test competence

C&S conformance test experiences started with data link layer testing and certification methodology and are now expanded to the other OSI layers and also to LIN, Flexray and other bus systems. Technical and organizational requirements of conformance testing are implemented at C&S and accreditation according to ISO 17025 is in progress.
