CAN Conformance Tests (ISO 16845)

Availability
In stock

Principle and test method

Conformance of microcontrollers and standalone protocol implementations is tested according to ISO 16845. The test suite consists of a test system, its test scripts and the required coordination software – as defined in ISO 9646. Each test program – called test case – generates a real-time stimulus to the implementation under test (IUT). The response of the IUT is recorded and compared with the expected response. Conformance with the standard is derived from the result of the comparison.

Test execution can be performed at the end of the chip implementation and – to reduce the risk of faulty implementations – during the development process as a pretest with FPGA.

Customer coaching is established to support a better understanding of the different specification requirements, improving the design and avoiding troubles during the conformance test.

Result and competence

The result of conformance testing is documented by an authentication sheet, which is requested by most automotive OEMs. Technical and organizational requirements of conformance testing are implemented at C&S and accreditation according to ISO 17025 is in progress.
