Epec 2038 Mini Module is one of the smallest electronic control units with 23 I/O pins (CANopen compatible ECU/PLC) available for embedded systems. It has the proven Epec construction to endure even the toughest environmental conditions in mines, dusty construction sites, and cold and wet conditions in northern forests. The unit conforms the automotive e17 standards and has a shock endurance up to 100G.

Programming of the control unit is done easily; PLCopen applications are first developed and debugged with CoDeSys programming tool that runs in a normal Windows environment. It is then downloaded into the control unit via CAN. CoDeSys is the leading IEC 61131-3 graphical programming environment in the market.

The Mini Module is very easy to mount due to its compact size, yet offers a considerable amount of controlling features for machine components such as sensors, valves, etc.

The module is used independently in smaller machines or with other control modules in larger systems. With the help of the 2038 Mini Module it is possible to even further deepen the distribution of intelligence around the machine by locating the module next to connectable sensors, actuators and other devices spread around the machine.

There are two separate hardware versions available of the 2038 module: One has two CAN interfaces like in other control units, the other has one CAN interface and one serial (RS-232) interfaces.
