MForce CANopen actuator

Availability
In stock

The CANopen MForce MicroDrive offers system designers a low cost, +12 VDC to +48 VDC, 2A RMS intelligent microstepping drive.

The unsurpassed smoothness and performance delivered by the CANopen MForce MicroDrive is achieved through IMS's advanced 2nd generation current control. By applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor, resonance is significantly dampened over the entire speed range and audible noise is reduced.

The CANopen MForce MicroDrive accepts a broad input voltage range, delivering enhanced performance and speed. Oversized input capacitors are used to minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long runs and multiple drive systems. An extended operating range of −40 °C to +85 °C provides long life, trouble free service in demanding environments.

Standard features available in the CANopen MForce MicroDrive include four +5 V to +24 V general purpose I/O lines, one 10-bit analog input.

Expanded features in the CANopen MForce MicroDrive version include up to eight +5 V to +24 V general purpose I/O lines. The CANopen MForce MicroDrive communicates using the CiA DS 301: Application layer and communication profile. The CAN interface supports 11-bit CAN-IDs and 29-bit CAN-IDs and is capable of all standard frequencies from 10 kHz to 1 MHz. CANopen features include node guarding, heartbeat producer, SDOs and PDOs. Highlights include variable PDO mapping and extended node identifier.

Supported modes of operation for the CANopen MForce MicroDrive include: Profile position, homing mode and profile velocity using the standard DSP 402: Device profile for drives and controls specification and object dictionary.

Interface connections are accomplished using 12,0 inch (30,5 cm) flying leads or a seven position terminal strip. Expanded versions come with pluggable locking wire crimp connectors.

The CANopen MForce MicroDrive is a compact, powerful and inexpensive solution that will reduce system cost, design and assembly time for a large range of brushless motor applications.
