Advanced hydraulics controller.
CrossFire MX1 is a compact, rugged and versatile I/O-module and controller designed for mobile applications. The module is intended for use in decentralised systems, for installation close to the I/O to be handled, for example at a hydraulic valve block. The unit has high quality proportional valve outputs (PWM) with current feedback, making it very suitable in applications which require reliable proportional control.
The module has state-of-the art environmental characteristics, a result of CC Systems experience from demanding civil and military applications. The unit has a wide power supply range (10 V DC to 36 V DC), a wide operating temperature range (−40 °C to +85 °C) and is EMC certified (ISO 14982 for emissions and ISO 11452-2 for immunity). Silicon moulding ensures high resistance to moisture, vibration and shock loads.
I/O interfaces are designed for demanding control tasks where reliability and performance are critical. Furthermore, the design enables implementation of diagnostics and system built-in-test:
- Current controlled PWM outputs to ensure correct and stable hydraulic flows
- High driving capacity of current outputs, up to 3 A per channel, enabling direct drive of hydraulic valves, even valves without pilot
- Status feedback on digital outputs (on/off)
- Short circuit protection on all current outputs
- Separate reference output voltage on analog inputs to ensure correct input
- A choice of input voltage ranges on analog inputs
CrossFire MX1 is offered with varying I/O configurations in order to satisfy typical I/O needs for different tasks on vehicles and mobile equipment. Configuration examples for the model CrossFire MX1 is presented in the table below.
Thanks to a modular architecture, CrossFire MX1 can be offered with customised I/O configurations and characteristics as a means to optimise system cost and functionality.
When used as a slave in decentralised CANopen systems, CrossFire MX1 is supplied with the CANopen profile CiA 401. A special feature is that a complete simulation package for application development and testing can be offered together with the unit. This package makes it possible to execute the nodes simulated, in a standard PC. You can connect the simulated nodes, via commercially available CAN interface cards for PC, to other, physical nodes in a system. Hereby, you create a powerful environment for debugging and testing of your complete system.
CrossFire MX1 is also available with CoDeSys RunTime, which makes the unit ready to operate as a stand-alone unit, master in a CANOpen network or as an intelligent node in a distributed system.
With its powerful C167 core, CrossFire MX1 can also be used as a controller/compact PLC, executing its own application as stand-alone unit or as a node in a distributed system. Depending on the application and the preference of the developer, different languages and tools can be used for developing such applications:
- C/C++ with tools like Tasking or Keil Microvision
- UML with tools like I-Logix Rhapsody
- IEC 61131-3 with tools like CoDeSys
