With its highly compact and modular design, the system enables four to 30 temperature zones to be controlled independently. For this, the required components - bus coupler, control unit, and an arbitrary number of I/O modules in different sizes (2, 4, 8, or 16 channels) - are simply plugged together, whereby all inter-connections are made automatically. This approach makes the controller unusually cost-effective, and allows it to be adapted precisely to individual tasks. By means of bus coupler modules for CANopen, Ethernet Mod/TCP, Ethernet IP, Profibus DP, DeviceNet and Modbus RTU, the system is open for all major industrial field buses.

A dedicated RS-232 interface is provided for convenient, easy configuration and visualization of the multi-loop controller by means of the BlueControl® engineering tool. The fast, adjustable scanning rate per channel loop not only allows reliable control of very fast loops, but also the direct connection of melt pressure sensors.

Two self-tuning methods and various automatic start-up and monitoring functions are further proof of the excellent performance provided by this cascadable, stand-alone device.
