In stock
  • Fast and reliable linking Ethernet and CAN with data buffering
  • 10/100 BaseT Ethernet
  • CANopen manager
  • Siemens S7 CAN interface via Industrial Ethernet/UDP

Linking Ethernet and CAN

The module EtherCAN is linking an Ethernet network to a CAN network. It supports the Ethernet protocols TCP/IP and Modbus/TCP. The EtherCAN-S7 is linking a Siemens S7-300/400 via Industrial Ethernet/UDP to CAN.

Powerful controller

The data transfer between Ethernet and CAN is controlled by a NET+50 ARM processor. Data is buffered in a local SDRAM. The firmware in the local Flash can be updated.

Physical interfaces

The ISO 11898-compatible CAN interface allows a maximum data-transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s. The CAN interface is electrically isolated by optocouplers and a DC/DC-converter and is connected via a Combicon-style connector. The Ethernet interface works with 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s. It is connected via an RJ45 connector.

Configuration

The module EtherCAN offers remote configuration via PC and displays status information at its own Website. Configuration via CAN is also possible according to CiA 302. The module EtherCAN-7 can be configured by the Siemens SIMATIC Manger.

Software support

CANopen software packages are available for Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista or Linux operating systems.
