CC Pilot XS controller and human machine interface
In stock
CC Pilot XS is a powerful and robust on-board computer for use in control systems and fleet management applications. CC Pilot XS is adapted for use in harsh environments typically found in vehicles, working machines and mobile units.
Applications
CC Pilot XS is a rugged computer/ display unit for use in various applications:
- On-board display and controller. CC Pilot XS can be utilised as combined display unit and advanced controller, interfacing with the rest of the control system via CAN or Ethernet.
- The product is available in a version without the graphical display unit and can then act as a powerful compact controller.
- Mobile client. As mobile client in fleet management applications, installed in a vehicle or mobile plant, CC Pilot XS runs on-board applications for positioning, order handling and diagnostics. Wireless communication via GSM/GPRS connects the mobile unit with a back-office system.
- Built in positioning via GPS
Features
CC Pilot XS is equipped with a powerful 533 MHz Intel XScale CPU which combines high performance with low power consumption. The unit has a 128 MiB or 256 MiB RAM memory and a solid state memory (Compact Flash) with a size of 1 GiB.
The unit can be supplied with either a 6,4-inch or a 10,4-inch graphical colour display with touch screen. Pushbuttons in the front are used for on/off and adjustment of brightness. A photo diode integrated in the front can handle automatic control of brightness.
CC Pilot XS is also available without the graphical display unit, for use as a powerful controller in demanding controller applications.
The unit is equipped with two separate CAN interfaces, which makes it easy to integrate the computer to two different CAN networks on the same machine, e.g. J1939-based for power train control and CANopen for process control, working hydraulics etc. The on-board computer can act as central master in a system with distributed I/O modules or as a HMI unit in a distributed control architecture. CANopen, J1939 or a proprietary protocol can be used.
In addition to CAN the unit has the following interfaces:
- 2 × Ethernet
- 2 × USB
- 1 × COM/RS-232
- 3 × digital inputs
- 2 × video
- Audio
- GPS, built-in module
- GPRS/GSM, built-in modem
- Bluetooth class 1 (100 m.), built-in module
Through its extremely slim design, the unit can easily be fitted in a cabin, either as tripod or panel mounted. Protection class IP67 and DIN M12 connectors make the unit ideal for use in rough environments.
The voltage supply range is 10 VDC to 36 VDC.
From a software perspective, CC Pilot XS is an open platform. Operating system is Windows CE.
Depending on the application and the preference of the developer, different languages and tools can be used in application development, for example:
- C/C++ or C# with tools like Visual Studio 2005
- IEC 61131-3 with CoDeSys
CC Pilot XS is offered by CC Systems as:
- Stand-alone unit with a number of auxiliary options like GPS-antenna, reversing camera and video viewing software, keyboard etc.
- A component in a complete, CAN-based vehicle control system, including for example slave I/O-modules, distributed controllers, gateways and decoder units.
- A mobile client in a system for managing mobile units, typically including on-board applications and back-office applications for fleet management, GIS and Diagnostics.
