The ESD CAN starter kits are designed to guide you for your first steps in CAN technology. They include standard ESD CAN components suitable for industrial environment, therefore you can reuse them for diagnosis, development or field application after your successful study of CAN networking.

All starter kits came with software drivers and a demo program as source code. Additionally tools like CANreal for monitoring and controlling the network and COBview to display the COBs (communication objects) of CANopen are included.

Windows CAN starter kit

• CAN PC interface module for PCI, PCI Express, ISA, Centronics or USB
• Digital I/O module CAN-CBM-DIO8, eight I/Os 24 V
• ISO 11898 CAN data link layer with electrical isolation by optocouplers
• Data transfer rate up to 1 Mbit/s
• I/O simulation board
• Complete CAN wiring with T-connectors, termination and power supply

VxWorks CAN starter kit

• In cooperation with Wind River Systems
• CAN-PC104/200 interface module with the three major CAN controllers Intel 82527, Siemens 81C91 and Philips SJA1000 (other target boards on request)
• CAN-ISA/200 interface module for PC host (other host modules on request)
• ISO 11898 CAN data link layer with electrical isolation by optocouplers
• Data transfer rate up to 1 Mbit/s
• Complete CAN wiring with termination
