The CANopen EDS Editor is a software utility that allows the comfortable creation and maintenance of device description files conform to CiA 306. An intuitive user interface provides device manufacturers and system integrators with all functions required to manually create EDS files or to edit existing EDS files.

Object Dictionary entries are displayed in a tree view to provide optimum user-friendliness. All object attributes such as object type and data type, or access rights, are shown as ASCII text. The EDS editor will convert the attributes into the corresponding numerical values.

Further functions simplify the creation of object entries for PDOs as well as general object entries that are based on the object type ARRAY, thus preventing time consuming entry of data structures.

The EDS editor also offers a powerful interface to read and write the EDS files, enabling the user to load large files in a very short time, reducing the usual delay times during loading and writing to a minimum.
