The R170 receiver is a great addition to the current remote control solutions as it now provides the capability for Omnex’s remote controls and wireless dashboard solutions to tap directly into the vehicle’s system electronics. The R170 is compatible with Omnex’s full line of remote control transmitters providing from two to 32 function operation (with both digital and proportional capabilities). The rugged radio controlled systems are available in both 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies and can deliver up to 1 200 feet of range (at 900 MHz) or 900 feet of range (at 2,4 GHz).

Currently, the R170 receiver is compatible with SAE J1939 protocol; however, this receiver can be customized to work with other CAN protocols (such as CANopen) or can be customized to work with your proprietary protocol.

Omnex’s R170 remote control receiver has been designed to provide OEMs with a CAN compatible "wireless dashboard" solution. With the flexibility of the R170 receiver, OEMs have the ability to design, fast prototype and maintain confidential proprietary bus and I/O.

The R170 receiver design is compact and easy to integrate. Omnex developed and incorporates Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology to provide dependable, relentless, interference free Trusted Wireless® operation even in the harshest environments.

Other key features of the R170 include: diagnostic indicators, pendant capable, weatherproof and resilient to impact and shock. As well, it has an RS-232 port for configuration, diagnostics; firmware upgrades and has provisions for data logging capabilities. With two CAN, this receiver can act as a CAN bridge.

Typical applications for the R170 receiver include: truck chassis applications (such as, truck mounted cranes, tow trucks, vacuum trucks, mixer trucks, etc.), material handling equipment, off-highway and off-road vehicles, maritime electronics, factory automation, industrial machine control and many others.
