Multiplexed Vehicle Electrical Center (mVEC)

Availability
Upon request, Q4/2007

The mVEC is an economical alternative to high current, solid state power distribution modules. Based on Vansco’s vehicle networking technologies and Cooper Bussmann’s patented Vehicle Electrical Center (VEC), the mVEC is suited for a variety of demanding environments.

As a networked module, the mVEC sends information on the status of relays and fuses via the data bus to any networked display or telltale module to inform the operator of any system deficiency.

The mVEC incorporates integrated circuitry containing a logic layer capable of addressing Vehicle Multiplexing functions through a J1939/CAN interface.

A small footprint makes the mVEC ideal for all applications where space is at a premium.

Software

  • The mVEC is offered with a software communication protocol document that provides the application developer the information required to integrate the product into any J1939 system.
  • The mVEC operates as a slave on the J1939 network which means
    • No custom software is required for the mVEC
    • All logic resides in the master modules on the network

Common applications

  • High current power distribution in any application such as:
    • Agriculture – harvester, tractor, combine, self-propelled sprayer, planter, seeder, windrower
    • On Highway – transit bus, motor coach, recreational vehicle (RV)/caravan, refuse/garbage truck, emergency vehicle (ambulance, fire truck), diesel truck/lorry
    • Construction – telehandler, loader, excavator/digger, forklift/lift truck, paver, bulldozer, compactor, backhoe
  • High current H-bridge circuits
  • Flashers
