CiA e-mail services

The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) does not allow to send information without permission by the receiving person anymore.

Therefore, CAN in Automation (CiA) provides three e-mail services, which you can subscribe. Non-members as well as CiA members can request two of them:

  • CAN Info Mail (monthly): This e-mail contains general information about CiA activities, CiA organized events, new CiA specifications, and other information interesting for CAN users and suppliers.
  • CiA’s Weekly Telegraph (weekly): This e-mail provides information about news published on the CAN Newsletter Online and articles in the CAN Newsletter magazine (pdf). Additionally, links to new entries in the CiA product guides are given.
The third e-mail service is limited to persons working in member companies or member institutes:
  • CiA Member News: This monthly e-mail features member services as well as CiA meeting dates. It also contains useful information about the CAN community including standardization and new specification projects.

The GDPR, in power since end of May, hurts as a lot. If we respect the law, which protects the privacy of persons, we have no chance to inform interested parties by e-mail, except they have given a written permission. We even could not inform members about CiA group meetings or send them meeting minutes.

If you like to subscribe to one of the above mentioned CiA e-mail services, please write an e-mail to mail(at)can-cia.org. In this case, we do not need a double opt-in procedure. This is only necessary, if you subscribe online.
