CiA at SPS IPC Drives 2017

The CANopen FD demonstrator is the highlight on our CiA booth. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss with the “fathers” the new CANopen FD application layer features.

In the year of our 25th anniversary, CAN in Automation (CiA) has released the first version of the CiA 1301 CANopen FD application layer and communication profile. On our booth, we will exhibit the CANopen FD demonstrator, which comprises nodes from Emtas, Esacademy, ESD, HMS, and Microcontrol. The most important new function is the USDO (universal service data object) featuring broadcast communication. Of course, the larger PDOs (up to 64 byte) and the increased throughput are advantages, too.

Our booth is in hall 2, stand 300. We are not happy about the location. We hope, you will find us in the middle of electromechanics – connectors and cables. On our booth we also show classic CANopen devices from different manufacturers.

On our booth, you can discuss in detail the opportunities of CANopen FD. We also appreciate, to inform visitors about the CAN FD data link layer and the design impacts on the physical layer network. The SPS IPC Drives tradeshow in Nuremberg is always very busy. Therefore, we recommend making appointments in advance, if you like to talk to someone specific from CiA. Please email your request to headquarters(at)can-cia.org.
