CiA anniversary party

On June 1 and June 2, CiA celebrates its 30th anniversary with an in-person event in Nuremberg (Germany).

The two-day event comprises four sessions with presentations and includes the regular annual general assembly with election of the board of directors and members of the CiA Technical Committee and the CiA Business Committee. At the second day, some CiA technical groups have the opportunity to meet. In parallel to these meetings, the newly elected CiA Business Committee pre-discusses the requirements for 2023.

The first presentation session focuses on new recent CAN lower-layer developments (CAN XL, CAN SIC XL, and CAN FD Light). The speakers – Dr. Arthur Mutter (Bosch), Magnus Hell (Infineon), and Fred Renning (ST-Microelectronics) – will provide first-hand information and give an outlook to the next steps. The three CiA directors – Uwe Koppe (MicroControl), Christian Schlegel (CS Consulting), and Holger Zeltwanger – talk in the second sessions about the development and future of classic CANopen, CANopen FD, and J1939-based network solutions. In the third session, some members speak about CAN applications and implementations. The fourth session is provided by CiA employees: Thilo Schumann (UML usage in CiA documents), Yao Yao (overview on CiA technical groups and CiA document editing rules), and Reiner Zitzmann (generic CAN bootloader specification).

Besides the official program, there is sufficient time for individual talks exchanging experiences as well as knowledge. This is also the opportunity, to refresh your personal network and to establish new relations. Perhaps, this is the most important topic of the CiA anniversary party. Therefore, the two-day event provides a get-together on the first evening.

For registration please contact CiA office by email. Reserve not just the date, but also a seat. The number of participants is limited due to the event location.
