The CiA office opens again on January 2, 2016
A few days before Christmas, the ISO 11898-1:2015 standard has been published. Besides the Classical CAN protocol, it contains the CAN FD protocol, already implemented in some IP cores and protocol controller chips. For more information visit also the CAN Newsletter Online.
On January 4, 2016 we are back on our desks. The New Year will start with some “open” meetings. They will discuss improvements of CANopen profiles for drives (CiA 402) as well as for modular I/O devices (CiA 401).
Next year, CiA will exhibit on the Embedded World, Bauma Munich, Baum China, and SPS IPC Drives. Our regular seminars are already scheduled. In addition, the CiA Business Committee has requested information events free-of-charge for CiA members (two in Germany, three in other European countries, three in North America, and seven in Far East). They will give an overview on new CiA specification activities (e.g. OPC UA compendium for CANopen) and updates on CAN FD technology. These events will be scheduled beginning of 2016. They are intended for decision makers. Non-members may also participate for a cost lump sum of € 96 (in Europe) or US-$ 96 (in North America) or equivalent currency in China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
