SPS 2020 goes all-virtual

Due to the ongoing travel restrictions and other fundamental changes caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the SPS 2020 will take place only in virtual form as SPS Connect.

Board of directors re-elected

In its first online meeting, the CiA general assembly has re-elected the CiA board of directors (Uwe Koppe, Technical Director; Christian Schlegel, Business Director, and Holger Zeltwanger, Managing Director). The accepted budget for 2020 will be adjusted depending on the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.

CiA BC and CiA TC

During the online CiA general assembly (GA), the members of the CiA business committee (BC) and the CiA technical committee (TC) have been re-elected. The GA also excluded some companies from the member list due to not paid fees for 2019.

CiA webinar on J1939-22

The 1-hour webinar on July 8 provides an overview on CANopen FD networks using the J1939-22 application layer.

Technology days on CANopen FD

CiA has scheduled two free of charge CANopen FD technology days on July 6 and July 9. The 4-hour online events give an introduction into the new CANopen application layer running on CAN FD networks.

CAN and CANopen online seminars

CiA has introduced the web-based CAN and CANopen seminars which help to increase attendees safety in times of the coronavirus. It provides in a compact format the contents of our well-known on-site seminars.

IAS participation

CiA has cancelled its participation in the IAS tradeshow in Shanghai, due to the uncertainties cause by the novel coronavirus. The sub-exhibitors of the CiA stand have already withdrawn their participation.

CiA technology day

The first online CiA technology day took place with some 30 attendees. The next one is scheduled for May 26.

Innotrans postponed

CiA has planned to exhibit on the Innotrans 2020, which now takes place in April 2021. This tradeshow in Berlin is the leading fair for railway business.

Remote access to CANopen

CiA has updated CiA 309-1 as well as CiA 309-3 and has released CiA 309-5. This series of specifications standardizes the remote access to CANopen network from TCP-networks.
