CAN in Automation (CiA) is the international users' and manufacturers' group that develops and supports CAN-based higher-layer protocols. The nonprofit association was established in 1992 and provides technical, product-specific, and general information about CAN. The aim is to provide an unbiased platform for future developments of the CAN protocol and to promote the CAN technology. More than 600 companies from all over the world have joined and supported the nonprofit organization.

CiA employees actively support the development of CAN-related international specifications. Within the scope of technical professional articles, consultations, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions, CiA employees increase the name recognition of the CAN-referring standards and help interested developers to get to know CAN. CiA provides a range of publications including the CAN Newsletter (Online), CiA’s Weekly Telegraph, and the Product Guide. Thus, CiA employees inform by technical articles, application reports, press releases, or product information, about the latest trends and developments in the area of CAN.

Especially for the CiA publications, we are looking for a technical editor (m/f).

Your tasks:
  • Editorial care of our technical magazines CAN Newsletter (Online)
  • Editing of professional technical articles and press releases for online and print media in English language
  • Researching and writing of professional articles and press releases in German and English language
  • Creating technical content for our websites in English language
  • Coordination of CiA’s social media sites
  • Excellent knowledge of English; word-perfect
  • Knowledge of automation engineering (preferably study)
  • Experiences in conceptual and editorial work in technical area
  • Experience with content management systems such as TYPO3 is an advantage
  • Very good communication skills, confidential appearance, flexibility, high organizing skills, self-initiative, ability to cope under stress and to work in a team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Limitation: not temporary
  • Working hours: Full time
